The Role

The Platform Architect - Integrations & Platform Capabilities is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of Software Engineers, Architects, and BA’s on projects. As a Sr. Platform architect, you will architect, design, and implement solutions on the ServiceNow platform. The Platform Architect will ensure complex ServiceNow deployments are aligned to Industry best practices, translate functional and technical requirements for the project teams. The Sr. Platform Architect will help mentor business consultants in relation to technical design standards and implementation of best practices. Must maintain a team environment of trust, collaboration, and high-performance, while delivering excellent customer experiences.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Ensure team organization, individual development, and communication are in-line with Delivery vision; support teams to perform at a high level; foster inter-team collaboration and productivity
  • Responsible for Managing a team of Engineers and architects
  • Collaborate with Pre-Sales team and Delivery Organization on creating plans that drives results based on the customers’ requirements
  • Deliver measurable positive results within the client and team’s timelines and budgets
  • Prepare and facilitate customer workshops to capture and define customer’s requirements.
  • Interact with the different architecture, platforms, application and infrastructure teams to understand and design the solution
  • Suggest new ways to grow the ServiceNow domain which will often include learning or enhancing NewRocket custom products collaborating with the Practice Leadership and Creative teams
  • Research industry impact and innovative opportunities to technical and business-related problems
  • Provide engineers with architectural blueprints/requirements for customizations, data migration, or integrations
  • Consistently check for security vulnerabilities and quality of what we deliver in customer projects across the architecture and engineering capabilities, including NewRocket products and services delivered to the customer
  • Design, develop, and implement custom applications, integrations, and workflows within the ServiceNow platform using App Engine, UI Builder, Integration Hub, and ServiceNow Platform capabilities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues related to custom applications and workflows.
  • Participate in your team’s code reviews and ensure code quality standards are maintained.
  • Demo and prototyping of platform capabilities, and in select cases identifying the specific requirements needed to work with designers and developers to build and present innovative solution offerings and accelerator prototypes to customers
  • Thought leader - Maintain proficient knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and products via webinars, case study, training, and all other resources available
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the Technology practice processes as well as the maturing of the different portfolios, capabilities, expertise, and best practices in consideration of customer needs and requirements
  • Oversee the development of crew members. Manage career progression including hiring, performance reviews

What You Bring Along

  • 8-12 years of experience in IT Services or Engineering
  • Proven business architecture experience
  • Knowledge of ITIL, minimum Foundation and/or CSDM, Common Service Data Model
  • Strong knowledge in UIBuilder, Process Automation Designer, and Platform capabilities preferred.
  • Advanced level ability in two of the following product lines: ITSM, CSM, HR, SPM, ITOM, Performance Analytics, SecOps/GRC, or ITAM
  • Advanced understanding of the key technologies relevant to the ServiceNow integration solutions including: SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, SCP, FTPS
  • Strong scripting skills in the ServiceNow platform using JS: Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, UI Pages, Angular JS, Jelly, etc.
  • Ability to implement systems using the Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Strong knowledge of architecture principles for cloud-based platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in documenting roadmaps with functional design elements
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Effective facilitation, coaching and mentoring skills with ability to motivate a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to simplify complex situations
  • Ability to deliver high degree of customer satisfaction
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed organization
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and change
  • Ability to facilitate and lead workshops for customers focusing on innovation, ideation, co-creation, development and validation of solutions on the Now Platform.
  • Experience in managing internal community forums and asset libraries to enable innovation and collaboration at scale

Education & Certification Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent work experience

  • ServiceNow Pre-sales accreditations
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (specific domain area)
  • ServiceNow Certified Master Architect (CMA) or ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) preferred
