Job Description:

The Principal Engineer will be responsible for the ServiceNow platform to ensure platform security, reliability and performance. You will also develop, configure and maintain integrations to the platform. This position is offered to an experienced Engineer who is eager to help drive automation of IT Service Management processes and build the foundation for Allstate's future. This team member will be part of an Agile global team which operates in 2-week sprints.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain platform security, stability, performance while building the foundations for future automated processes in support of strategic objectives
  • Ensure platform security through proactive patches/fixes recommended by the vendor and minimize platform integrations to maximize performance
  • Lead and coordinate platform upgrades and patching across multiple instances
  • Operate as a senior project team member in developing the optimal... ServiceNow solutions to achieve the best outcomes for Allstate
  • Manage the ServiceNow MID servers including patching and testing
  • Handles incidents/issues related to the platform and is part of the on-call rotation
  • Research new functionality and recommend solutions to deliver value and reduce manual processes
  • Manage aspects of the architecture and development processes, including building and executing on the program roadmap, working with ITSM process owners to identify and manage Continuous Improvement needs
  • Activate plugins, work with UI and data policies, business rules, access control levels, alerts and notifications, import and update sets
  • Will utilize AGILE processes, methodologies, and practices to maximize continual service improvement and cost reduction initiatives

Primary Skills

  • Experience in ServiceNow (San Diego or Tokyo version) with ITSM, ITOM, Client scripts, UI Scripts, Business Rules, Workflows, Tables
  • ServiceNow Portal experience
  • ITIL qualified
  • Prior ServiceNow technical knowledge and platform architecture understanding
  • Experience in coding and configuring interfaces between ServiceNow and other systems
  • 2 Years reporting tools experience e.g. PowerBI or Tableau
  • 2 years monitoring tools experience e.g. application performance, infrastructure
  • Experience of working across infrastructure technologies e.g. OS, networking, cloud

Experience:

  • Overall 8-12 years
