The team/department

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled ServiceNow Senior CMDB Analyst/Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for playing a key role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow platform. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the organization to implement and optimize CMDB processes, ensuring efficient IT service delivery and operational excellence.

As a successful ServiceNow Senior Administrator(CMDB), you will be working within the ERP Product Group DevOps team within our Data Tech & Innovation division. Collaborating with the ERP Product Group and key business owners and SMEs, you will play... the role of senior administrator in a team delivering improvements to our existing ServiceNow instance and Business as Usual operations. Additionally, the identification of new opportunities for leveraging the functionality offered in the latest versions of ServiceNow.

CMDB Management

What you will be doing (the role)

  • Own the day-to-day operations and health of the ServiceNow CMDB
  • Work alongside the CMDB lead and ServiceNow product Owner to implement and maintain best practices for data governance, quality, and consistency
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for CMDB accuracy and completeness
  • Develop and execute data cleansing and reconciliation processes
  • Manage data integrations with other IT systems and tools

Process Improvement

  • Analyze CMDB data to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Design and implement enhancements to CMDB processes and workflows
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with ITIL best practices
  • Develop and maintain documentation for CMDB processes and procedures

Technical Expertise

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB configuration and functionality
  • Expertise in ServiceNow discovery setting up IRE rules, data policies, mid server configuration and maintenance etc
  • Troubleshoot and resolve CMDB-related issues and incidents
  • Strong understanding of CDSM 4.0 framework
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest ServiceNow CMDB features and best practices

Collaboration And Communication

  • Work effectively with IT teams, business units, and other stakeholders
  • Communicate CMDB initiatives and updates clearly and concisely
  • Provide guidance and training on CMDB processes and tools
  • Participate and collaborate in CMDB governance meetings

The Skills And Experience You Will Have 

Minimum

  • Experience in working as a CMDB Analyst
  • Exposure with working as a ServiceNow CMDB administrator
  • Certified ServiceNow System Administrator
  • ITIL V3/V4 Foundation accreditation

Essential Criteria

  • Experience with ITSM processes including CMDB and frameworks (e.g., ITIL)
  • Exposure with data governance and quality management practices
  • Knowledge of Performance Analytics
  • Involvement in ITOM Discovery Configuration
  • Experience in working as a CMDB Analyst
  • Good understanding of OOTB capabilities of ServiceNow and a hunger to keep yourself up to date with the developments in the ServiceNow world
  • You should be able to identify and implement the right solution utilising your knowledge of the capabilities of the platform
  • Ability to forge and maintain strong relationship with team members and stakeholders
