The Sr/Principal Advisor (ITSM-ServiceNow) is a full-time position with broad IT Service Management / IT Operating Model experience, with implementation experience using ServiceNow. The ideal candidate will have experience developing IT processes and tailoring digital operating models, using a mix of broad, modern industry principles, practices and frameworks (e.g., COBIT5, TOGAF, ITIL, etc... Additionally, ideal candidates should have experience applying business architecture to full-lifecycle product/service solution development and sustainment (operations & maintenance).

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • 15-20+ years IT Advisory
  • Innovation / emerging technology management
  • IT Strategy / Budgeting
  • Business Continuity & Ops -- e.g., optimize design patterns / solutions for high availability / disaster recovery, considering key processes, role staffing, automation and culture change objectives needed to move towards effective Site Reliability Engineering practices
  • IT Governance
  • IT Service Management / operations & maintenance
  • IT Security / Zero Trust principles
  • Other areas of IT advisory e.g., as described in COBIT5 reference model
  • 10-15+ years engagement with leadership client stakeholders to understand digital transformation goals and objectives, and advise on strategic and tactical IT investments, initiatives, and organizational / operating model changes necessary to accomplish digital transformation goals and objectives – e.g., CIO, Chief Architect, Data Officer, Chief Engineer.

Education, Certifications & Tools

  • Required - Bachelor’s degree (any)
  • Preferred certifications – ITIL, COBIT5, vendor-specific ITSM certifications (e.g., ServiceNow), TOGAF®, SAFe®

  • Pay range: $160,000 - $205,000 (plus up to 5% yearly contingent bonus)
  • Remote work preferred (but advisors must have willingness and ability for travel as required to meet client needs)

  • Work with your peers to help clients improve on the complexities of end-to-end solution development, such as and understanding touchpoints between business process and larger solution development – and delivering outcomes in an iterative and incremental way, with quality built-in
  • Collaborate with Cloud Application Architect / Lean Portfolio Manager roles, helping to reduce client technical debt by rationalizing application/technology and helping optimize target state architecture
  • Collaborate with IT Service Management / ServiceNow roles, for example, taking a “Service view” of everything, and aligning key advice to Digital Operating Model (DOM) priorities
  • Expand your skills in scaled agility (especially SAFe®), applying EA/MBSE tools (especially Software AG ARIS) to help align features/user stories with enterprise architecture design artifacts (e.g., strategy, processes, capabilities, risks, controls, technology patterns)

Position Contributions

  • The Position has a proven track record in their area of expertise, in addition to at least 15 years of broad IT industry experience. The Position is differentiated from lower levels by having broad experience outside their own area of expertise, with new entrants bringing their own set of proven methods, tools and frameworks to deliver client value – in addition to taking ownership of one or more service offerings, and responsibility for offering development, marketing and sales cycle ownership.
