As a Director of Software Engineering for ServiceNow, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Capital One's ServiceNow Platform within the Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division. This division is key to enhancing our foundational cloud infrastructure, focusing on observability, connectivity, resilience, and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee a diverse range of technology projects while leading a team of experienced developers skilled in the ServiceNow Platform, focusing on modules like IT Asset Management (ITAM), IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Risk Management (ITRM), and IT Operations Management (ITOM).
• Grow and manage multiple teams of software engineers dedicated to product development.
• Provide mentorship and support the professional development of engineers on your teams.
• Collaborate with product managers to define application capabilities and testing scenarios.
• Continuously enhance software engineering practices within your teams.
• Work collaboratively across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support comprehensive technical solutions.
• Champion the craftsmanship, resilience, availability, and scalability of your solutions.
• Stay informed on industry trends, experiment with new technologies, and engage with technology communities while mentoring fellow engineers.
• Promote a culture of innovation, cutting-edge technology implementation, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
• Enhance the speed and efficacy of your teams and others.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree.
• At least 7 years of experience in software development.
• At least 5 years of experience with the ServiceNow Platform, including Development and Operations.
• At least 5 years of experience in people management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 8+ Years of experience with ServiceNow Platform and Workflows development for various ServiceNow modules.
• 6+ years of experience in at least one programming language such as Java, JavaScript, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js.
• 4+ years of experience with cloud services like AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.
• 6+ years of experience in open-source frameworks.
• 2+ years of experience in Agile methodologies.

This position is available in McLean, VA at a salary range of $263,900 - $301,200, in Plano, TX or Richmond, VA at a salary range of $239,900 - $273,800. This role also offers performance-based incentives.
