Senior ServiceNow Developer – ITOM/ITAM

Our client, a leading ServiceNow partner, are hiring a Senior ServiceNow Developer with deep expertise in IT Operations Management (ITOM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) to join their team remotely on a contract basis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to deliver enterprise-grade solutions that improve automation, visibility and control of IT infrastructure and assets.

Responsibilities

• Configure and tailor ITOM Discovery to identify and manage Configuration Items (CIs) across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments.
• Implement and optimize ITAM modules (SAM/HAM) to automate the full asset lifecycle and ensure accurate asset tracking.
• Build and maintain Service Mapping to improve service visibility and enable effective troubleshooting.
• Enhance and maintain the CMDB, ensuring data integrity and alignment with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
• Integrate ServiceNow with external systems via REST, SOAP and Integration Hub to support end-to-end ITOM/ITAM workflows.
• Develop custom workflows, business rules, scripts and automations to streamline operations and boost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Discovery, Event Management and CMDB accuracy.
• Mentor junior developers and lead by example in implementing ServiceNow best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with ITIL standards and organizational policies, including FISMA and license governance.

Skillset

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar.
• At least 5 years of hands-on ServiceNow development, with a minimum of 3 years focused specifically on ITOM and ITAM implementations.
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certifications are required.
• Two ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications.
• ServiceNow CIS – ITOM and ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation certifications are a plus.
• Demonstrated experience delivering ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and managing CMDB in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong background in system integration using REST, SOAP and related APIs.
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API and ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts).
• In-depth expertise in the ServiceNow ITOM suite, CMDB architecture and CSDM alignment.
• Practical experience with SAM, HAM, and end-to-end license lifecycle management.
