Certifications: All listed ServiceNow certifications are mandatory

About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow Developer with strong leadership abilities to join our team in Woodlawn, MD. This is a hands-on senior developer role with team lead responsibilities, ideal for someone with deep technical expertise in ServiceNow and a passion for mentoring and driving development initiatives.

You'll be working onsite, five days a week, leading development efforts, supporting enterprise-level implementations, and guiding a talented team of ServiceNow developers. The ideal candidate will bring extensive ServiceNow module experience, federal project exposure, and a solid understanding of solution architecture, CMDB, ITSM, and other key platform capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as both a technical lead and senior ServiceNow developer
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, efficient technical solutions
  • Create solution roadmaps and architectural diagrams beyond just user story implementation
  • Build prototypes and lead technical design reviews
  • Provide mentoring and leadership to junior developers
  • Ensure data integrity across ITSM, CMDB, HAM, SAM, and related modules
  • Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development across modules such as ITSM, ITOM, CSM, SecOps, GRC, HR, and more
  • 5+ years in a technical leadership role, leading ServiceNow initiatives and development teams
  • Strong experience in solution architecture and designing scalable ServiceNow applications
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow integrations using REST/SOAP, and experience with JavaScript, Angular, and other web technologies
  • Experience working on federal government projects highly preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

  • At least one Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification in any of the following areas:

  • Software Asset Management (SAM)
  • Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience, Master's with 5+ years, or 11+ years in lieu of a degree
  • Experience with scripting and web technologies: HTML/CSS, SQL, JavaScript, Java, PHP, .NET
  • ITIL v4 Foundations certification and/or Agile/Project Management certifications
  • Deep understanding of CMDB integrity, IT Asset Management, and strategic platform design
  • Knowledge of identity/access protocols (e.g., SAML, LDAP, Active Directory)
  • Lead a team of talented ServiceNow professionals
  • Work on high-impact, enterprise-level federal initiatives
  • Utilize and expand your technical certifications and leadership skills
  • Engage in a role that challenges both your strategic thinking and hands-on development expertise
