ServiceNow Platform ITSM Developer
A ServiceNow developer plays a crucial role in the development of the IT Operations Management area, including Event Management Integrations of Applications, Orchestration of Incident Remediation, Process & Workflow, and Cloud Automation.
The candidate will coordinate and support the design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions within Federal organizations. This role requires a deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture, best practices, and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
IT Service Management (ITSM) is a set of processes used to manage the design, plan, and delivery of services.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow solutions in alignment with federal government requirements and standards.
- Build solutions in ServiceNow for modules such as ITSM, Portal, Catalog, HR Module, ITBM, SOC, and GRC.
- Develop portals in ServiceNow, adding multiple pages and widgets.
- Customize widgets based on client requirements.
- Understand domain separation and how portals and catalogues work in a domain-separated instance.
- Establish a strong technical foundation in the ServiceNow Platform and design solutions that drive business outcomes.
- Define configuration management standards for the technology.
- Automate major processes.
- Interface with customers across executive, platform owner, enterprise architects, and development teams during the selling, structuring, and implementation of solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to ServiceNow architecture, design decisions, configurations, and integrations.
- Conduct code reviews and provide guidance to development teams to ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
- Stay up-to-date with ServiceNow updates, releases, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the platform.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure ServiceNow solutions meet federal government security requirements and comply with relevant regulations such as FISMA, NIST, and FedRAMP.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to ServiceNow implementations.
- Advocate for ServiceNow's advisory and expert services best practices and industry use cases with clients.
- Define solutions across the platform that align with out-of-the-box capabilities. Skills:
- Passion for programming and problem-solving.
- Minimum 6+ years of ServiceNow development experience.
- Custom application development knowledge.
- Excellent coding skills using Java, JavaScript, Angular JS, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap framework.
- Data exchange formats like JSON and XML.
- Ability to write business rules, script includes, and email notifications.
- Server-side and client-side scripting in ServiceNow.
- Workflow build or modify workflows based on client requirements.
- Familiarity with Incident, Change, Requests, Catalogs, and Tasks.
- Catalog building, variable sets, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, and ACL.
- Debugging skills along with coding skills.
- Architect, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications/modules such as Incident Management, Change Management, Service Catalog, and CMDB to meet organizational needs.
- Configuration management field and ability to complete difficult and complex assignments.
- Experience in ServiceNow Discovery & Service Mapping.
- Integrate ServiceNow with other systems and applications within the federal government ecosystem.
- Basic networking skills: Infrastructure / Networking, Networking Protocols, WMI, Subnet masks, SNMP, etc.
- Customer service and communication skills: Ability to work graciously with users while resolving their issues. Expectations:

- Write clean, efficient, unit-testable code with minimal support needed.
- Adhere to the coding and review practices laid down by the team.

- Document pseudo-code as applicable w.r.t templates.
- Display keen interest in the latest technologies and share that knowledge with peers and managers.
- Great organization skills to prioritize, follow up, deliver, and communicate status of assigned actions. Experience:
- Federal clearance required (Secret or Top Secret or TS/SCI).
- Minimum 5 to 7+ years of ServiceNow ITSM Developer Experience is required.
- Meet and maintain the requirements to work in a FedRAMP environment OR Complete disconnected environment (i.e. undergo a background screening, reside on U.S. soil, and prove status as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or a U.S. Person).
- Experience working with functional business leaders.
- Experience identifying business objectives and developing outcome-focused roadmaps.
- Enterprise Architect certification preferred (Togaf, IT4IT, etc).
- Cloud platform certification(s) preferred.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Workflow Platform. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Trusted advisor to executives and facilitate customer success from strategic planning functions including business value identification, road mapping, as well as advising and defining successful execution strategies.
