Job Title: ServiceNow ITOM Specialist

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will be a confident authority in ITOM and CMDB practices, capable of engaging with stakeholders and driving results without constant oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Ascension Technologies and the ServiceNow implementation partner.
  • Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of ITOM (Discovery), CMDB (Asset & Config), and CSDM in a service-based architecture.
  • Apply deep technical knowledge of Horizontal Discovery, IRE (Identification and Reconciliation Engine), health rules, de-duplication, and asset management processes.
  • Validate configurations and workflows to ensure alignment with business needs and technical standards.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and process owners, translating technical concepts into actionable insights.
  • Oversee testing, go-live, and post-deployment support activities.
  • Monitor and improve platform performance using KPIs and metrics.
  • Provide guidance on vulnerability response setup and monitoring, especially in relation to Service Graph connectors and IRE conflicts.
  • Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions to support adoption and platform maturity.
  • Ensure compliance with ITIL best practices and internal governance.

Must-Have Skills & Qualities:

  • Technical Mastery: Proven expertise in ServiceNow ITOM Discovery, CMDB (Asset & Config), IRE, health rules, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Independent Ownership: Ability to identify issues, troubleshoot independently, and drive remediation without hand-holding.
  • Effective Communication: Comfortable engaging with stakeholders, explaining technical decisions, and representing the platform confidently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • 5–10 years of experience in ITSM with a focus on ServiceNow implementation.
  • Strong background in ITOM Discovery, CMDB, and CSDM.
  • Preferred certifications: ServiceNow CSA, CIS, ITIL.
