Job Description:
- The Contingent worker will act in the role of a CMDB Analyst supporting the J&J “CMDB Product Manager- Infrastructure” in gathering information about OT / IT assets and ensuring seamless representation in the ServiceNow CMDB following established CMDB process/policies & standards.
- This role will be pivotal in expanding the scope of the ServiceNow CMDB into Operational Technology and maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and usability of the OT/IT Configuration Items by ensuring proper intake, classification, and lifecycle management of Configuration Items (CIs).
- The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience with ServiceNow CMDB, a solid understanding of ITIL best practices and familiarity with Operational Technology Assets.
Required Skills:

- Experience with IT and OT systems and networks

Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of CI classes, relationships, and discovery tools in ServiceNow.
- Basic understanding of OT technology and Data class structure in ServiceNow
- Experience with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), SQL queries, or scripting for data analysis.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work collaboratively with IT operations, security, and application teams.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Validation:
- Gathering information about OT/IT assets, such as hardware, software, and network devices, and verifying its accuracy.
CMDB Maintenance:
- Updating and maintaining the CMDB with accurate and up-to-date information about OT/IT assets, including their attributes and relationships.
- Populate and maintain CIs (Configuration Items) in the CMDB, ensuring accurate attributes, relationships, and dependencies
Asset Lifecycle Management:
- Tracking the lifecycle of OT/IT assets, including deployment, upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Collaboration with OT/IT Teams and Vendors:
- Working closely with OT teams and other implementation vendors to understand their needs and ensure alignment between IT and CMDB practices.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyzing CMDB data to identify trends, dependencies, and potential risks related to OT/IT assets.
OT/IT Security Compliance:
- Ensuring that CMDB data is consistent with OT/IT security standards and best practices.
Tooling and Automation:
- Experience with CMDB tools such as ServiceNow (Implementation and administration of CMDB product module is preferred).
- Familiarity with OT/IT asset lifecycle management processes.
- Using and potentially developing tools and scripts to automate data collection, validation, and reporting processes.
- Assist in configuring and optimizing CMDB testing for better CI management.
- Support integration’s between CMDB and monitoring, asset management, and ITSM tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data synchronization issues.
Documentation:
- Maintaining accurate documentation of CMDB processes and procedures related to OT/IT assets.
