Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow Consultant with 10+ years of hands-on experience to support the design, implementation, and optimization of ServiceNow-based Enterprise Service Management Systems (ESMS), with a focus on public sector and county-level deployments. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in configuration, system architecture, and consulting within ITSM frameworks—aligned with government environments, workflows, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a functional and technical SME for ServiceNow platform modules including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Asset & Configuration Management, and Knowledge Management.
- Lead configuration and deployment of ServiceNow solutions including workflows, catalogs, self-service portals, and reporting dashboards.
- Collaborate with county IT and DevOps teams to deliver scalable and secure ServiceNow implementations that support large user populations.
- Analyze requirements and map them to ServiceNow capabilities, identifying opportunities for automation and improvement of service delivery processes.
- Support the development of interface requirements, data migration strategies, and system integration points.
- Maintain system health and performance through best-practice-based monitoring, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
- Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to client teams and support user adoption through training sessions.
- Ensure alignment with public sector compliance standards, including NIST 800-series guidelines and county procurement policies.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of ServiceNow consulting experience with direct hands-on configuration and implementation responsibilities.
- Proven expertise in functional consulting, incident/problem management, system architecture, and solution design using the ServiceNow platform.
- Experience working on county-level or municipal IT service projects, preferably within California.
- Strong understanding of ITIL best practices and how they are applied within ServiceNow.
- Ability to write technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration guides for public sector clients.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, requirement gathering, and translating needs into ServiceNow capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to liaise effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to government security and compliance requirements.
Preferred Skills:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator or higher-level certifications (e.g., Implementation Specialist, Application Developer).
- Familiarity with Public Sector procurement and IT systems a plus.
- Knowledge of CMDB, integration with third-party platforms, and ServiceNow Performance Analytics.
Work Conditions:
- Primarily remote work with occasional travel for client meetings or implementation support.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Compensation Package:
- 1099 contract
