About the position

The ServiceNow Admin position is a critical role within our organization, focusing on the management and administration of the ServiceNow platform. This position is based in McLean, VA, or Plano, TX, and is offered as a contract role. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience managing the ServiceNow platform, with a strong preference for those who possess expertise in CMDB Discovery and Service Mapping. The role requires a deep understanding of IT infrastructure and application landscapes, as well as the ability to work closely with application owners to comprehend their topology and relational requirements necessary for effective service mapping. In this position, you will be responsible for administering, monitoring, reporting, and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within ServiceNow. This includes ensuring that the CMDB is accurate and up-to-date, which is essential for effective IT service management. You will also be expected to provide exceptional customer service, working directly with users to understand and resolve their issues. Empathetic listening skills are crucial, as you will need to address user concerns while considering their experiences and perspectives. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that the ServiceNow platform meets the evolving needs of the organization and supports our IT service management processes effectively.

Requirements

  • 8+ years' managing ServiceNow platform, with preference for CMDB Discovery and Service Mapping experience. ,
  • Experience working with Application owners to understand Application Topology and Relational requirements for Service Mapping. ,
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience). ,
  • Broad exposure to IT infrastructure and application landscape, ideally with technical depth in a discipline/ITSM process. ,
  • Experience in administering, monitoring, reporting, and maintaining a CMDB in ServiceNow. ,
  • Strong customer service skills, with experience working with users to understand and resolve issues. ,
  • Empathetic listening skills to effectively address user concerns.
