Overview

Job Description:

The ServiceNow Operations Administrator supports the configuration, maintenance, and integration of the ServiceNow platform, with a focus on CMDB, endpoint platform integrations (e.g., HP, Dell, VMware, Device42, procurement tools), reporting, and workflows. This role works closely with IT operations and asset management teams to ensure data integrity and support business processes through automation and reporting.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of IT experience, preferably in systems administration or IT operations.
  • 2+ years working with ServiceNow, especially CMDB and Discovery.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Powershell, Python)
  • Understanding of ServiceNow APIs, Workflows, and ITSM Module.
  • Experience with ServiceNow reporting and dashboards.
  • Understanding of ITIL concepts, especially Configuration Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance CMDB data quality and relationships.
  • Assist in configuring Discovery and Service Mapping.
  • Generate and maintain reports and dashboards for IT operations.
  • Troubleshoot integration and data issues.
  • Conducts requirements gathering and analysis to understand business needs or business problems which can be translated to ServiceNow solutions.
  • Supports software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolves activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancements.
  • Maintains records for the documentation of systems development and revisions.
  • Responsible for the development of workflows and applications within the ServiceNow platform, which support the streamlining and automation of business processes.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining integrations between the ServiceNow platform and external systems, and maintaining documentation related to the ServiceNow platform.
  • Collaborates closely with project managers to provide updates on project progress and communicate issues that may impact project success.
  • Recommends and contributes to development of best practices and standard operating procedures and provides technical expertise for Support teams.

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) business processes, IT service management, systems, processes, implementation, and metrics.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow software solutions using JavaScript, Jelly, Web Services, MYSQL, XML, HTML and CSS
  • Experience with Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, Scheduled Jobs - all scripted aspects of the ServiceNow system.
  • Experience with ServiceNow client and server-side JavaScript and the ServiceNow APIs
  • Customizing ServiceNow using UI Pages, UI Macro & CMS using CSS, HTML, Jelly.
  • Custom UI Changes with usage of Web Technologies such as DOM, HTML changes.
  • Experience Integrating ServiceNow application(s) with third party systems/applications via APIs.
  • Ability to translate business processes into applications and workflows within the ServiceNow platform. Able to appropriately assess and communicate risks, benefits, and alternatives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to translate between technical and business teams.
  • Ability to work both as an integral member of a team environment and independently on projects and assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Able to anticipate problems and proactively develop appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines
