Job Description: Senior ServiceNow Engineer/ServiceNow Platform Architect (Contract-to-Hire)

We have a contract-to-hire opportunity for a Senior ServiceNow Engineer. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and certified ServiceNow engineer with 5+ years of enterprise ITSM experience, including a minimum of 3 years in ServiceNow development and administration. This individual brings deep expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, SPM, SecOps, and CMDB, with a strong understanding of ITIL-based processes and Agile development methodologies.

They are ServiceNow Certified Application Developers (CAD) and ideally hold additional certifications such as Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) and ITIL Foundation. The candidate has proven experience in scripting (JavaScript), platform automation, custom app development, and API integrations (REST/SOAP, MID Servers). Their technical proficiency includes strong knowledge of platform architecture, governance, RBAC, and integration technologies like SAML, LDAP, JDBC, and SSO.

This engineer is a collaborative and solutions-driven professional, capable of leading platform upgrades, conducting impact analyses, and driving stakeholder engagement across IT, security, and healthcare teams. They are experienced in mentoring junior developers, managing platform health, and delivering scalable solutions aligned with organizational strategy and compliance standards.

Must-Haves:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a ServiceNow Administrator and/or Developer within a large-scale enterprise environment
• At least 5 years of experience in IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, design, and administration
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with RESTful and SOAP web services for integrations
• Proficient in HTML, JavaScript, and ServiceNow-specific scripting (3+ years)
• Strong knowledge and experience (3+ years) with ServiceNow APIs, SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, SCP, and FTPS
• Must possess ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification

Nice-to-Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• ITIL Foundation certification
• Agile methodology training or certification (Scrum or Kanban)

• Skilled in creating and maintaining service catalog items, record producers, and fulfillment workflows

About This Role:

The Senior ServiceNow Engineer is responsible for the design, development, configuration, and maintenance of ServiceNow solutions to support enterprise service management needs. This role collaborates with IT, Security, and Healthcare teams to implement and enhance ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, SPM, HRSD, and SecOps.

The engineer will lead platform architecture efforts, integrate ServiceNow with external systems, and ensure compliance with security and governance standards. They will apply Agile methodologies and manage the full software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to design and implement ServiceNow solutions
• Lead development and configuration of core ServiceNow modules:
• ITSM
• HRSD
• ITOM
• CMDB
• Discovery
• Develop custom JavaScript solutions and use configuration tools (e.g., Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions)
• Manage platform components (forms, tables, workflows, notifications, groups, roles, ACLs)
• Plan and execute platform upgrades:
• Review release notes
• Conduct impact analysis
• Lead regression and UAT testing
• Post-upgrade validation
• Troubleshoot platform and integration issues
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, discovery workshops, and process reviews
• Deliver platform demos and solution walk-throughs
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, grooming, stand-ups, retrospectives)
• Mentor junior developers and enforce coding standards
• Maintain documentation (design specs, user guides, admin procedures)
• Design and maintain dashboards and analytics for KPIs
• Ensure platform security and governance (RBAC, audit trails, compliance)
• Contribute to platform strategy, roadmap, and governance planning
