Chief ServiceNow Platform Strategist

Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned ServiceNow Lead Architect & Development Manager to oversee the architectural integrity and development operations of our expanding platform.

This hybrid role is pivotal in ensuring the platform's scalability, reliability, and alignment with the Laboratory's mission to deliver exceptional services to our community.

The successful candidate will lead a diverse team of internal and external developers, establish robust development processes, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to drive the platform's evolution.

This position also reports to the ServiceNow Program Manager and will partner with the broader ServiceNow leadership team to shape and contribute to the short- and long-term strategic goals of the platform. Key Responsibilities

• Platform Architecture: Develop comprehensive architectural designs for the platform, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices.
• Team Leadership: Lead a team of internal and external ServiceNow developers, promoting collaboration and development best practices.
• Development Standards: Establish and maintain development standards, coding practices, and quality assurance processes.
• Integration Management: Oversee the integration of the platform with other enterprise systems, ensuring seamless data flow and process efficiency.
• Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective platform solutions.
• Governance Frameworks: Contribute to the establishment and enforcement of governance frameworks to maintain platform integrity, ensure data security, and uphold compliance with organizational policies.
• Technology Advancements: Stay updated with platform developments and evaluate new features for alignment with business objectives.
• Product Support: Support product selection and manage platform support renewals in coordination with the Product Owner.
• Problem Resolution: Work with internal users and external vendors on problem resolution, upgrades, and product research.
• Process Improvement: Develop processes to ensure timely delivery of solutions and prepare both the platform and team for future growth.
• Technical Guidance: Provide technical and architectural guidance to ensure high-quality solution delivery.
• Operational Readiness: Support operational readiness, including occasional off-hours or on-call support as required. Qualifications Required Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7-9+ years of proven experience as a ServiceNow Architect or similar role with a strong track record of designing and implementing complex platform solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of multiple platform modules, including but not limited to ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, and CMDB.
• Proven experience leading development teams and managing projects.
• Strong process development and process management skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Flexibility to support occasional off-hours work during scheduled maintenance windows. PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator or Implementation Specialist.
• ITIL v4 Foundation Certification and/or strong knowledge of ITIL.
• Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI-ACP, or PRINCE2 certification.
• Experience with Business Transformation or Agile implementations.
• Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, platform PPM, or similar platforms. Benefits
