The senior ServiceNow ITSM developer is a technical expert responsible for analyzing, designing, configuring, and implementing software development projects using ServiceNow ITSM, ITAM, and ITOM.
Key responsibilities include ensuring software meets functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements, coding solutions, unit testing, and integrating the solution into the overall application/system with clear interfaces.
Job expectations include awareness of development and testing practices in the industry. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the setup, configuration, and implementation of ServiceNow's ITSM, ITOM, and ITAM capabilities.
- Design, create, and maintain reports, including platform and performance analytics, process mining, and key performance indicators at a process/workflow and operational perspective.
- Develop interactive dashboards, widgets, and workspaces.
- Create and maintain forms, reports, views, workflows, business rules, scripts, access control lists, groups, and roles.
- Create and configure tool integrations with ServiceNow (Netcool, Kafka, etc.).
- Assist with design, creation, and cataloging of business process flows.
- Perform tasks to design and configure ServiceNow functions to meet operational needs.
- Oversee the integration of information into the CMDB from ServiceNow Discovery and APIs, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Utilize experience in creating APIs to establish seamless communication between ServiceNow and other systems.
- Design and implement robust APIs for efficient data exchange.
- Code solutions and unit test to deliver requirements per defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
- Use multiple architectural components in design and development of client requirements.
- Perform continuous integration and continuous development activities.
- Contribute to story refinement and definition of requirements.
- Participate in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
- Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause.
- Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB, ITSM applications with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience.
- 7+ years of experience working as a ServiceNow developer.
- 5+ years of experience working in the Discovery module of ServiceNow.
- Proficiency with API development (SOAP OR REST).
- Proficient in core tables, Glide, scripting, UI actions, scheduled jobs, business rules, client scripts, data imports, custom apps, and development methodologies.
- Expertise in ServiceNow development, JavaScript, Angular JS or React JS.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow Flow Designer.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
