LPR International is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior ServiceNow Engineer to support our client’s enterprise service management needs. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity based in Columbia, MD. This role focuses on designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining solutions within the ServiceNow platform, ensuring compliance with industry best practices, governance, and security standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, proven platform administration and development experience, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Location & Term:
- Columbia, MD | Hybrid - Must be within an hour to commute to facility. Will be required to go onsite at least once a month; more may be required upon facility needs.
- Full-Time | 5x8 schedule | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM EST
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to analyze, design, and implement ServiceNow solutions aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead development, configuration, and maintenance of ServiceNow modules including ITSM, HRSD, ITOM, CMDB, and Discovery.
- Develop and implement solutions using ServiceNow configuration tools and custom JavaScript scripting.
- Manage platform components such as forms, workflows, access controls, and integrations via REST/SOAP APIs.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute platform upgrades and patches, including impact analysis, testing, and validation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform and integration issues, implementing sustainable and automated solutions.
- Facilitate requirement-gathering sessions, workshops, and solution demonstrations for stakeholders.
- Work within Agile/Scrum development frameworks, participating in sprint planning and delivery.
- Mentor junior developers and administrators, enforcing coding standards and best practices.
- Maintain technical documentation, user guides, and administrative procedures.
- Design dashboards, reports, and analytics to monitor system health, service delivery, and KPIs.
- Ensure platform governance, security, and compliance through access controls, audits, and alignment with organizational policies.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 6–7 years total related experience.
- ServiceNow Application Developer Certification.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a ServiceNow Administrator/Developer in a large-scale enterprise environment.
- At least 5 years of ITSM process, design, and administration experience (may overlap with Administrator/Developer experience).
- Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience with RESTful and SOAP web services.
- Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, and ServiceNow scripting (minimum 3 years).
- Strong integration skills with ServiceNow APIs, SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, SCP, and FTPS.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
- Agile methodology training/certification with Scrum or Kanban experience.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) Certification.
- Experience with Hardware and Software Asset Management (HAM/SAM).
- Experience working with Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) modules.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Expert knowledge of ServiceNow architecture, core modules, and integrations.
- Strong ITSM process knowledge and ability to apply across modules.
- Advanced workflow automation, scripting, and integration development skills.
- Ability to design dashboards, reports, and user interfaces that improve operations.
- Skilled in defining and managing SLAs, service catalogs, and request workflows.
- Proficient in user, role, and access control management.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
