ServiceNow Developer Position

The IT Services department seeks a highly skilled ServiceNow Developer to join their team. This role requires expertise in designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow products and solutions that meet the institution's needs.

This position will play a pivotal role in expanding the footprint of ServiceNow through various ServiceNow products. As a ServiceNow Developer, you will be responsible for developing, administering, and supporting various aspects of the ServiceNow platform and portals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, coding, configuring, unit testing, maintaining, and documenting deliverables using agreed-upon standards and tools.
  • Creating technical and process documentation capturing development work, standards, architectural/technical design.
  • Developing or enhancing various ServiceNow components such as business rules, flow designer, workflow, request catalog, client script, script include, UI policy, UI action, portal, UI macro, etc.
  • Implementing and maintaining integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems and applications.
  • Researching and maintaining a deep technical understanding of current and upcoming ServiceNow releases, communicating benefits and alignment with institutional strategy.
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues/problems impacting operation relating to ServiceNow.
  • Identifying, improving, and applying security controls to the ServiceNow platform.
  • Supporting the maintenance and development of the CMDB.
  • Ability to communicate with end-users and create user stories.
  • Collaborating with peers and leadership in the ITS and Service Desk teams to identify improvement and develop opportunities.

Required qualifications and experience include:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.
  • 2+ years' experience with ServiceNow ITSM development and support.
  • 2+ years' experience with ServiceNow CMDB development and support.
  • 1+ years' experience with ServiceNow CSM development and support.
  • 1+ years of experience in scoped application development and/or support with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with system architecture and solution design.
  • Understanding of ITIL framework and practice.
  • Experience or training relating to other ServiceNow products such as HRSD, SPM, Portal, and custom applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within an Agile methodology.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.

Desirable skills and qualifications include strong communication, both written and verbal, excellent organizational and time management, and the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
