Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer / Architect to lead the design and development of business workflows within the ServiceNow platform, specifically focused on logging, tracking, and resolving health plan claims issues. This role requires direct engagement with business stakeholders, including operations and claims management teams, to take existing requirements and processes, and design scalable, efficient workflows within ServiceNow. You will play a key role in transforming manual or legacy excel centric processes into automated workflows that provide visibility, accountability, and timely resolution of claims-related issues, ensuring compliance with health plan standards and improving member and provider satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand end-to-end claims processes and pain points.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Architect and develop solutions using ServiceNow modules such as Flow Designer, App Engine Studio, Service Catalog, and Case Management.
  • Create and configure custom applications or extend existing applications to manage claims issue intake, tracking, and resolution workflows.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise ServiceNow architecture standards.
  • Lead integration efforts with other systems (e.g., core claims systems, CRM, or BI tools) as needed.
  • Provide documentation, training, and knowledge transfer to business and technical teams.
  • Serve as a ServiceNow subject matter expert, providing guidance on platform capabilities and best practices.
  • Maintain alignment with compliance, data governance, and IT security standards within the health plan environment.

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of ServiceNow development experience with at least 2 years in a solution architecture or senior developer role.
  • Experience designing and building business workflows using Flow Designer, App Engine, and Service Catalog.
  • Proven track record of working directly with non-technical business users to gather requirements and implement tailored solutions.
  • Strong understanding of health plan operations, particularly in claims processing and issue resolution workflows.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer and/or Certified Implementation Specialist.
  • Experience in a regulated healthcare or health plan environment.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and PHI data handling.
  • Exposure to reporting and analytics within ServiceNow (Performance Analytics, Dashboards).
  • Experience within a Health Plan highly preferred but not required.
