Work Location: Remote, with occasional onsite to Washington, DC Position Summary The ServiceNow Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure, reliable, and scalable integrations between the ServiceNow platform and other federal systems, applications, and data sources. This role works closely with architects, developers, security teams, and business stakeholders to ensure integration solutions meet federal compliance standards such as FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST requirements. Key Responsibilities Integration Design & Development
- Design and implement integrations using ServiceNow IntegrationHub, APIs (REST/SOAP), web services, and middleware solutions such as MID Servers.
- Develop automated workflows for data exchange between ServiceNow and federal systems (e.g., Active Directory, Splunk, Okta, AWS GovCloud services).
- Architect and implement multi-tenant ServiceNow environments with proper data segregation and access controls.
- Design cross-component integrations spanning ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, HR Service Delivery, and Customer Service Management modules.
Platform Architecture & Multi-Component Integration
- Configure and optimize ServiceNow platform components including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and Orchestration.
- Implement complex multi-application workflows spanning IT Service Management, IT Operations Management, and Security Operations.
- Design tenant isolation strategies and cross-tenant data sharing mechanisms in enterprise ServiceNow deployments.
- Integrate ServiceNow Performance Analytics and Predictive Intelligence capabilities with external data sources.
Security & Compliance
- Ensure all integration solutions adhere to agency security policies, FedRAMP Moderate/High controls, and Section 508 compliance when applicable.
- Collaborate with Information Security teams to conduct security reviews, vulnerability scans, and ATO documentation updates.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms for multi-tenant environments.
System Performance & Reliability
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integration performance across multi-component ServiceNow deployments.
- Implement logging, error handling, and recovery processes in line with government standards.
- Design scalable integration patterns supporting high-volume data processing and real-time synchronization.
Collaboration & Governance
- Work with platform architects to align integration designs with enterprise architecture and modernization roadmaps.
- Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and adhere to ITIL-based change control processes.
- Provide technical guidance on ServiceNow platform capabilities and integration best practices.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience developing integrations in ServiceNow platform environments.
- Demonstrated experience with multi-tenant ServiceNow implementations and cross-component integrations.
- Proven experience integrating multiple ServiceNow components (ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, HR, CSM) in complex enterprise environments.
- Experience with federal government IT environments, including security and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST).
- Proven track record of integrating with enterprise and legacy systems in a government environment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, JavaScript, and advanced scripting within ServiceNow.
- Extensive experience with ServiceNow IntegrationHub, Flow Designer, and Orchestration.
- Deep knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and Performance Analytics.
- Experience with ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management (APM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and Security Operations (SecOps) modules.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow MID Server clustering and load balancing in enterprise environments.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow Transform Maps, Import Sets, and Data Sources for complex data integration scenarios.
- Familiarity with government network environments, VPNs, and secure data transfer methods.
- Experience with ServiceNow Studio, Update Sets, and application lifecycle management.
Certifications (Preferred):
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in relevant modules
- ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) - highly preferred
- ITIL Foundation v4
- Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 certification
