Job Title: CMDB Specialist

The purpose of this engagement is to develop a centralized Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for tracking and managing configuration items across the organization, thereby supporting the change management process.

The CMDB will enable impact analysis, dependency mapping, and risk assessment for our client's change management process. The contractor will report to the IT Asset Management Team lead, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and next steps.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct stakeholder meetings to understand strategies used in the organization to effect changes across critical applications and services.
• Define and record configuration item types with specific and unique attributes.
• Understand, document, and populate a hierarchy of services/applications and associated relationships between configuration items.
• Design the schema for the CMDB, showing the hierarchy, structure, grouping, dependencies, owners, and underlying infrastructures.
• Implement automated data population strategies using AI/ML and automated discovery processes to identify and populate configuration item data.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of guidance provided based on successful discovery and relational configuration item mapping of critical services/applications.

Required Skills:

• Extensive experience leading and developing a CMDB within an organization.
• Strong practical or theoretical experience applying AI tools and methodologies to CMDB processes.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
