We are seeking an Integration Development Engineer II to take charge of the AWS-based middleware layer that ensures secure and reliable connectivity between ServiceNow (SaaS) and Amazon's internal systems. This middleware stack serves as the technical backbone for integrating ServiceNow with internal Amazon services, maintaining stringent security standards.

As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating AWS services on a large scale, ensuring the platform remains highly available, cost-effective, and compliant with Amazon InfoSec policies. Collaborating closely with architects, application developers, and security engineers, you will create reusable integration patterns that accelerate ServiceNow's adoption throughout the organization.

This hands-on role involves a blend of development, operations, and on-call responsibilities within a fast-paced setting. You will be expected to tackle complex technical challenges, automate processes wherever feasible, and lead incident resolution with long-lasting solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• AWS Middleware Management: Design, implement, and maintain AWS services including API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, Secrets Manager, and VPC Endpoints for seamless ServiceNow integrations.
• Operational Excellence: Monitor system performance and security, lead on-call responses for middleware incidents, and drive thorough root-cause analysis to ensure permanent fixes.
• Automation & Tooling: Develop automation pipelines (IaC, CI/CD, monitoring, logging) to enhance deployment speed, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Integration Enablement: Provide secure and reusable API endpoints linking ServiceNow with various Amazon internal systems, closely collaborating with App Dev engineers and architects.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce authentication, authorization, and data handling controls that align with Amazon InfoSec standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify scaling issues, innovate middleware patterns, and facilitate self-service integration options for partner teams.

A Day in the Life: As an Integration Development Engineer II, you will navigate the balance of building new integrations while maintaining and enhancing the AWS middleware that connects ServiceNow to Amazon's internal systems. You will work alongside ServiceNow application developers, architects, and security teams to deliver secure and reusable APIs, while also promoting automation and operational efficiency across the middleware stack. When challenges arise, you will spearhead troubleshooting and incident response efforts to ensure stability and compliance. Your efforts play a pivotal role in enabling Amazon teams globally to access internal tools and services through ServiceNow securely and at scale.
