CMDB Expert for ServiceNow Implementation

As a seasoned professional in ServiceNow implementation, you will be responsible for leading the design, deployment, and optimization of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow platform.

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of CMDB architecture, discovery, service mapping, and integration with ITSM/ITOM modules to ensure accurate configuration data and alignment with ITIL best practices. Key Responsibilities:

• Implement ServiceNow CMDB end-to-end, ensuring precise configuration item (CI) data and relationships.
• Design and maintain the CMDB data model, including CI classes, attributes, and relationships.
• Configure and optimize Discovery and Service Mapping for automated and reliable population of CMDB data.
• Integrate CMDB with ITSM, ITOM, and other enterprise systems for real-time updates and visibility.
• Establish data governance, quality, and reconciliation policies.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and health metrics for CMDB.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align CMDB strategy with business and IT operations.
• Conduct workshops, gather requirements, and translate business needs into technical configurations. Required Skills & Experience:
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow implementation, with at least 3+ years focused on CMDB and Discovery.
• In-depth understanding of ITIL processes, particularly Configuration Management.
• Proven experience in Service Mapping, Discovery probes/sensors, and MID Server configuration.
• Proficiency in ServiceNow ITOM, ITSM, and related modules.
• Experience with data integrations (REST, SOAP, API, etc.) and import sets/transform maps.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for CMDB data integrity and performance issues.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
