About the Role
We are seeking a ServiceNow Developer / Engineer with strong experience working with the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to support ongoing ServiceNow platform initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing CMDB, Discovery, and related IT Service Management solutions to improve data accuracy, increase automation, and enhance operational visibility across the enterprise.
This is a collaborative, cross-functional role that works closely with platform architects, product owners, and technical delivery teams to ensure high-quality solutions aligned to business and IT objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement CMDB and Discovery enhancements within the ServiceNow platform.
- Configure CI classes, CI relationships, identification/reconciliation rules, and Service Mapping.
- Integrate CMDB with ITSM, ITOM, and IT Asset Management modules to improve data quality and operational workflows.
- Develop automation and configuration solutions using JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer, and related ServiceNow tooling.
- Conduct data quality assessments, audits, and reconciliation activities to maintain CMDB accuracy.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, estimate effort, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot issues related to CMDB, MID Server configuration, Discovery patterns, and integrations.
- Support platform upgrades, patch activities, testing, and ongoing enhancement roadmaps.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development, engineering, or administration.
- Strong knowledge of CMDB architecture, CI classes, and relationship modeling.
- Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and MID Server deployment/maintenance.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, Business Rules, and UI Policy scripting.
- Familiarity with ITSM/ITOM processes and best practices.
- Experience with integrations and protocols such as REST, SOAP, JDBC, or event-based messaging.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB, or ITOM certification(s)
- Experience with ITAM/SAM modules or Asset Lifecycle Management
- Experience in enterprise or multi-environment ServiceNow deployments
