As a member of the Corporate Apps team, the Associate Systems Engineer will be responsible for the administration and support of Paylocity’s ServiceNow environments. This person will help manage ServiceNow roles and permissions, maintain CMDB discovery schedules and validate Configuration Item data, maintain Hardware Asset data, and assist with implementing and maintaining IT Service Management.
The Associate Systems Engineer will also work closely with other ServiceNow Engineers on future projects as well as business stakeholders to fulfill requests and enhancements. This person should be familiar with various ServiceNow Products (CMDB, HAM, ITSM, etc.), and understand how the ITIL framework can be leveraged to create best practices.
Who you are:
- Self-motivated with a proven track record in ServiceNow administration.
- Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base.
- At ease working at all levels of the organization to capture and compile business requirements.
- Understands the ServiceNow Discovery and Configuration Management processes and methodology. Knowledgeable about Discovery Probes, Sensors and identifier rules.
- Comfortable with CI classes and their relationships.
- Experience with Hardware Asset Management and asset types
- Experience with IT Service Management and service catalog
- Understands the needs to standardize processes and build this into the design for best ITIL practices.
- Leverages both proven and innovative technology approaches to solve challenging business problems.
- Possesses excellent communication and collaboration skills.
During the first six months, you will:
- Establish routines with CI owners to ensure CMDB health and data accuracy
- Troubleshoot issues with CMDB discovery jobs
- Work with Paylocity’s asset team to maintain and enhance Hardware Asset Management
- Create and maintain ServiceNow roles and permissions
- Contribute to continual service improvement by leveraging personal knowledge and best practice in solving complex business problems.
- Create and maintain ServiceNow internal documentation
- Help with the implementation of IT Service Management
Required Experience:
- Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to implement on time to a project schedule, and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on ServiceNow Process and Development/ Admin experience.
- Advanced experience with ServiceNow implementations and maintenance and upkeep of ServiceNow CMDB.
- Comfortable deploying discoveries in a multi-datacenter environment with ServiceNow Discovery and Configuration Management processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with ability to demonstrate influence in a consultative fashion to stakeholders and other team members.
- Experience with setup and troubleshooting with Discovery mapping, schedules, patterns, and transformation of class data and restructuring.
- Experience setting up multiple MID servers, checking for their connectivity to various other data center components and troubleshooting issues.
- A fundamental understanding of Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, Scheduled Jobs - all scripted aspects of the ServiceNow system.
- Understanding of ServiceNow reporting, scheduled reports, and ServiceNow Database views.

Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.

The pay range for this position is $69,000-$98,500/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
