Job Summary:
The Human Resources Specialist I supports a centralized HR service environment by responding to employee and manager inquiries and assisting with routine HR, payroll, benefits, and talent-related requests. This role utilizes established procedures, knowledge bases, and HR systems to resolve cases, document interactions, and escalate issues as needed. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to handle high case volumes, and a focus on delivering an excellent employee experience. English and Spanish bilingual speaking skills are required for supporting operations in Puerto Rico. I-9 knowledge is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:

Responds to general HR inquiries and redirects calls to appropriate resources

Utilizes procedures, reference materials, and knowledge databases to resolve employee and manager questions

Guides users through Employee Self-Service and Manager Self-Service transactions

Performs assigned HR transactions or escalates items requiring deeper functional expertise

Enters data into Workday to process employee requests

Escalates issues to Tier II specialists when necessary

Documents all inquiries, issues, and transactions in case management tools

Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects as assigned
Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

One or more years of experience in human resources

One or more years of experience in customer service

English and Spanish bilingual speaking skills

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, case-based environment
Preferred Qualifications:
-
General HR knowledge with I-9 experience
-
Experience using Workday and ServiceNow
-
Familiarity with HR processes and HRIS tools
-
Ability to follow established procedures and escalate issues appropriately

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

Pay Range: $25/hr to $28/hr
