Job Summary
- We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on building cloud software and data access solutions for governments and citizens. Our Socrata solutions enable data-driven leadership and impact society by connecting people with information that matters.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will work in teams of 4-8 developers to build scalable, distributed systems for some of the most important data on the planet. You will be responsible for building and shipping high-quality customer-facing features, maintaining and improving a distributed cloud platform running on AWS, mentoring other engineers, and collaborating with other developers and stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you should have experience with statically typed languages like Scala, Elixir, Java, Go, or C++. You should also have significant experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, testing frameworks, and database technologies like relational databases and NoSQL stores. Additionally, you should be comfortable working in a heterogeneous development environment with multiple languages and technologies.
