ServiceNow Consultant

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow Consultant to join our dynamic IT solutions team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in service-oriented architecture, solution architecture, and system design, with a strong background in cloud security, IT infrastructure, and systems engineering. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining ServiceNow platforms and integrations to optimize enterprise workflows. The ServiceNow Consultant will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and security across various environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable ServiceNow solutions aligned with enterprise needs, utilizing best practices in system architecture and SDLC methodologies.
• Integrate ServiceNow with other enterprise systems such as Salesforce, Pegasystems, and custom APIs using RESTful API, SOAP, and web services.
• Develop and maintain automation workflows leveraging scripting languages including JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Shell Scripting.
• Manage system configurations related to cloud security, virtualization (VMware, ESXi), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and DevOps pipelines (Jenkins, CI/CD).
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and system hardening procedures to ensure compliance with information security standards.
• Implement load balancing, VPNs, firewalls, DNS configurations, DHCP management, and GPO policies to secure network infrastructure.
• Support continuous integration processes and system administration tasks across Windows, Linux, Azure, AWS environments.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to system performance, debugging code errors in C#, Java, Ruby on Rails, or other relevant languages.
• Collaborate with teams on system design improvements involving microservices architecture, NoSQL databases (MongoDB), SQL variants (MySQL, PostgreSQL), and Oracle databases.
• Stay current with emerging technologies such as threat intelligence platforms and quantum engineering principles to enhance security posture.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a ServiceNow Consultant or similar role with a strong understanding of service-oriented architecture and solution architecture principles.
• Proficiency in scripting languages including JavaScript, Python, Shell Scripting; familiarity with RESTful API development and web services.
• Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as operating systems (Windows/Linux), virtualization (VMware/ESXi), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and networking protocols (DNS/DHCP).
• Experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Git; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines; knowledge of containerization using Kubernetes.
• Strong background in system security practices including system hardening, vulnerability management/assessment, firewall configuration, VPN setup.
• Familiarity with enterprise applications such as Salesforce or Pegasystems is a plus.
• Educational background in Computer Science or related fields; certifications in cloud computing (AWS/Azure), cybersecurity or DevOps are advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work collaboratively in an Agile environment.

Pay: From $50.00 per hour
