Job Summary The ServiceNow Analyst analyzes, builds, maintains, and develops enhancements to mature the UT Tyler ServiceNow platform. The position works to gather requirements, complete design, develop, and implement ServiceNow and other information and IT service management solutions.

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

  • Develops, scripts, and deploys automation projects in ServiceNow.
  • Collaborates with departments to gather requirements, complete design, manage and develop reporting, and documentation. Expands and modifies the system to serve new purposes and/or improve workflow.
  • Provides training for ServiceNow users and service team.
  • Provides technical support and documentation for ServiceNow issues, requests, and processes.
  • Performs testing cycles, adhere to change management, and ensure best practices.
  • Assists with ServiceNow patch and upgrade processes.
  • Creates and maintains documentation of development details and updates and changes as needed. Required Education/Experience
  • Associates degree in a related field is required.
  • Two (2) years' experience in IT service/helpdesk or related field is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field with 2 years' experience is preferred. Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
  • JavaScript knowledge and familiarity with programming concepts is required. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, AngularJS, and familiarity and/or knowledge of ServiceNow platform is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices or other continuous improvement framework. Experience using best practices and processes of change management to implement and manage service management processes in a support ticketing system.
  • Working knowledge of security protocols, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Attention to detail, highly organized, and ability to achieve results under limited direction.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Additional Information The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
