ServiceNow Engineer – IT Asset Management (ITAM)

Location: Coppell, TX (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Engagement: Contract-to-Hire

Role Overview

We are seeking a ServiceNow Engineer with a strong focus on IT Asset Management (ITAM) to join our team in Coppell, TX. This role will play a key part in modernizing and governing IT Asset Management and CMDB processes, ensuring accurate asset lifecycle tracking, strong data quality, and alignment with industry best practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on ServiceNow experience supporting HAM/SAM, CMDB, Discovery, and CSDM, and will partner closely with infrastructure, operations, and procurement teams.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and support ServiceNow IT Asset Management (HAM/SAM) and CMDB solutions
• Drive CMDB data quality, accuracy, and lifecycle governance across infrastructure and application assets
• Support and enhance asset lifecycle processes including procurement, onboarding, maintenance, and retirement
• Implement and maintain Discovery, Service Mapping, Identification Engine, and reconciliation rules
• Apply and govern the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) to align configuration items with business services
• Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to support ITAM governance, audit readiness, and decision-making
• Partner with infrastructure, engineering, operations, and procurement teams to ensure asset ownership and accountability
• Support audit and compliance activities, including asset validation and reporting
• Document processes, standards, and job aids related to ITAM and CMDB operations
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and automation within ITAM workflows

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of ServiceNow platform experience
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) and CMDB
• Strong knowledge of Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and/or Software Asset Management (SAM)
• Solid understanding of CMDB tables, relationships, and data models
• Experience with Discovery, Identification Engine, and reconciliation
• Working knowledge of CSDM and its application within ServiceNow
• Experience building reports, dashboards, and KPIs (Performance Analytics a plus)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow certifications (CSA, ITAM, CMDB, or Discovery)
• Experience in regulated or enterprise environments
• Familiarity with ITIL and asset lifecycle best practices
• Experience supporting audit or compliance initiatives
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
