What You'll Do
Solution Architecture & Design
- Lead end-to-end design and implementation of ServiceNow solutions across ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, ITAM, HRSD, and other ServiceNow applications
- Define architectural vision and roadmap in collaboration with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams
- Design scalable solutions aligned with the Common Services Data Model (CSDM) for optimal platform integration
Technical Leadership & Oversight
- Oversee customization and configuration of ServiceNow modules, ensuring best practices and scalability
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, establishing high-quality coding standards
- Guide teams in adopting best practices across the ServiceNow platform
Integration & Interoperability
- Architect seamless integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems (LDAP, Active Directory, SAP, AWS, Azure, Salesforce, custom APIs)
- Design solutions using REST, SOAP, OAuth2, JWT, and MID Server for enterprise-level system interoperability
- Ensure data flow integrity across complex integration landscapes
Platform Optimization & Governance
- Identify and implement optimization opportunities for performance, usability, and cost-efficiency
- Review and optimize data models, integrations, workflows, and CMDB structures
- Establish governance processes for data integrity, security, compliance, access control, and system configurations
- Manage update sets, version control, deployment processes, and platform governance frameworks
Client Engagement & Advisory
- Act as subject matter expert, advising clients on ServiceNow architecture, process automation, and platform capabilities
- Produce comprehensive solution documentation including architecture diagrams, workflows, and implementation guides
- Lead system upgrades, patching, and platform enhancements aligned with new ServiceNow releases
What You Bring
Required Experience & Skills:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing ServiceNow solutions, with 3+ years in a lead or architect role
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification (required)
- Expertise in ServiceNow architecture, design, and configuration, including ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, HRSD, and CMDB
- In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow platform capabilities, modules, and best practices
- Proven ability to design and implement scalable ServiceNow solutions, including ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, and emerging modules, with deep knowledge of the Common Services Data Model (CSDM) for platform alignment
- Extensive experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST, SOAP, OAuth2, JWT, and MID Server, ensuring seamless interoperability with external systems like AWS, Azure, Salesforce, or other enterprise platforms
- Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting: JavaScript, Glide API, Business Rules
- Expertise in designing solutions to maintain platform integrity, optimize CMDB structure, and enforce best practices in performance, scalability, and usability
- In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow update sets, version control, deployment processes, and platform governance frameworks to ensure optimal performance and compliance
- Strong understanding and practical experience with ITIL frameworks, particularly Incident, Problem, Change Management, and Configuration Management, and the ability to map these processes to ServiceNow capabilities
- Experience with agile methodologies and managing large-scale ServiceNow implementations
Additional Preferred Experience & Skills:
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) certifications
- Familiarity with advanced ServiceNow features such as Flow Designer, Virtual Agent, and Predictive Intelligence
- Experience with ServiceNow ITOM modules (Discovery, Orchestration, Event Management)
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and their integration with ServiceNow
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for ServiceNow deployments
- Knowledge of automation tools and frameworks to drive operational efficiencies
- Healthcare industry/client experience in ServiceNow (big plus)
- Big firm/large enterprise background (e.g., Accenture, Deloitte, PwC, Booz Allen) with interest in moving to a smaller/hypergrowth firm
- Hands-on background that blends architecture with practical dev depth (lead dev who can roadmap/own SDLC-style thinking)
Work Details & Environment
Location: Arizona-based candidates only (remote-first with occasional optional travel for key engagements)
Shift Details: Full-time, Daylight shift, 40 hours per week minimum
Travel: All travel expenses reimbursed
Employment Status: Contract (6-month minimum with potential for earlier conversion for strong performers)
