CNS is seeking a ServiceNow developer to join the team that supports our ServiceNow (SNOW) system. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are passionate about designing robust, maintainable, and innovative solutions to software and user interface needs. Responsibilities include working as part of a small team of developers, helping to translate business needs into SNOW solutions, maintaining and enhancing existing solutions, debugging production issues, and customizing delivered functionality. Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Independently consult with clients and analyze current CNS business requirements, needs, and services.
  • Analyze business systems to determine most efficient, effective solutions in the specific context of the ServiceNow implementations.
  • Coordinates the business requirements with the available service delivery model, define new requirements, and lead delivery of new capabilities.
  • Assist in all aspects of service implementation and delivery including design, configuration, development, deployment, and support.
  • Keep pace with technical advancements with the ServiceNow platform and related technologies and provide input in their application areas to meet CNS business needs.
  • Incorporate new technologies as appropriate.
  • Lead and assist in all aspects of software delivery model; Design, Development, Validation, Delivery, Maintenance.
  • Perform system test and validations; verify system expectations and requirements; ensure system operation; perform enhancements and improvements.
  • Ensure that all appropriate procedures are developed and followed in a routine basis.
  • Ensure that all appropriate operating procedures, contingency plans, and security policies are developed and followed on a routine basis.
  • Ensure solutions are well-engineered, optimized, operable, and maintainable while also ensuring adherence to defined project management policies, change management guidelines, cyber security requirements and software quality assurance processes.
  • Interface with IT project management to deliver solutions on schedule and within budget.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree: No experience.
  • Eight or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements for this posting.

Preferred Job Requirements

  • At least 2 or more years of experience as a ServiceNow developer,
  • Experience with Cloud computing
  • Knowledge of the following programming languages is highly desirable: .Net, AJAX, HTML5, XML, and CSS3
  • Proficiency in JavaScript (GlideScript) for server-side and client-side scripting.
  • Experience with designing and developing Service Portal interfaces.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Studio and Update Sets for development and deployment.
  • Familiarity with REST and SOAP web services for integrating ServiceNow with other systems.
  • Experience with specific ServiceNow modules like Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, etc.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with ITIL processes and agile development.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

This position may require entry into the Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712), which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
