Senior Asset Management Expert

Overview

GovCIO is looking for a talented Senior Asset Management Expert (ServiceNow) to play a critical role in our US Coast Guard program. This position allows for a fully remote work environment, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Asset Management Expert, you will lead the daily operations and enhance enterprise IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes via ServiceNow. This senior-level position calls for extensive expertise in IT asset lifecycle management, data integrity maintenance, and collaboration with various stakeholders, including finance, security, and operations. Key responsibilities include:

• IT Asset Lifecycle Management
• Oversee asset lifecycle activities from request to disposal, ensuring records are accurate and audit-ready.
• Manage relationships among assets, users, locations, contracts, and configuration items.
• ServiceNow ITAM Operations
• Ensure adherence to asset data quality standards, including reconciliation rules.
• Collaborate closely with ServiceNow administrators to optimize workflows and meet reporting needs.
• Discovery & Reconciliation
• Conduct reconciliations between discovery sources and ServiceNow data, resolving issues with orphaned or duplicate assets.
• Governance, Compliance & Audit
• Establish ITAM governance standards and support both internal and external audits with accurate data.
• Ensure compliance with all organizational, contractual, and regulatory standards.
• Reporting & Analytics
• Create and manage dashboards and reports that track asset inventory and compliance metrics, providing insights into asset utilization and cost optimization.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required, along with 8+ years of relevant experience.

Required Skills and Experience

• Active Clearance Required: Must hold an Active Secret clearance
• 7+ years of experience in IT Asset Management or IT Service Management
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITAM
• In-depth understanding of asset lifecycle processes and data management
• Experience in enterprise or federal IT environments
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in reporting using ServiceNow or similar tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to procedural adherence and meticulous documentation

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with the United States Coast Guard or prior Department of Defense experience
• Familiarity with ITIL-aligned asset management practices
• Knowledge of federal property accountability regulations
• Relevant ServiceNow ITAM or ITIL certifications
• Experience with large-scale PC refresh initiatives
• Background in regulated environments
• History of engaging with government leadership
