About the role
As a ServiceNow Platform Engineer, your primary focus will be on the design, configuration, optimisation, and ongoing evolution of the ServiceNow platform. This role is centred on ensuring the platform delivers real business value supporting operational efficiency, automation, and scalable service management across the organisation.
You will work closely with technology, operations, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into effective ServiceNow solutions, and ensure the platform is configured and governed to a high standard. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to specialise deeply in ServiceNow while operating in a complex, enterprise-scale environment.
Responsibilities
- Own and contribute to the development, configuration, and optimisation of the ServiceNow platform
- Design and implement ServiceNow solutions that support ITSM and wider enterprise workflows
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable ServiceNow configurations
- Configure workflows, business rules, forms, UI policies, and integrations within ServiceNow
- Support platform governance, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure platform stability, performance, security, and maintainability
- Assist with upgrades, releases, and change management related to the ServiceNow platform
- Provide technical guidance and support to users and teams interacting with ServiceNow
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing around platform usage and standards
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform in a production environment
- Proven experience configuring and supporting ServiceNow modules (e.g. ITSM or related areas)
- Solid understanding of ServiceNow architecture, workflows, and configuration best practices
- Experience translating business and operational requirements into ServiceNow solutions
- Comfortable working in a large, structured organisation with multiple stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Clear communication skills, able to work with both technical and non-technical teams
Nice to Have
- Experience with additional ServiceNow modules beyond core ITSM
- Exposure to integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems
- Experience supporting ServiceNow in regulated or enterprise environments
- Familiarity with ServiceNow upgrade cycles, release management, or platform governance
- ServiceNow certifications (e.g. CSA or module-specific certifications)
