ServiceNow Solutions Design Lead Position Summary
The ServiceNow Solutions Design Lead is responsible for architecting and delivering scalable, cost-effective, and business-aligned solutions on the ServiceNow platform. This role ensures that all implementations align with the DTX operating model and enterprise standards.
The individual collaborates closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners to design innovative solutions that support strategic digital transformation objectives.
The role requires deep expertise across ServiceNow modules including Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM/PPM), ITSM, custom application development, integrations, and platform governance. Key Responsibilities Solution Architecture & Design Lead the end-to-end architecture and design of robust, scalable ServiceNow solutions. Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, quality frameworks, and best practices. Validate technical designs and conduct peer/code reviews. Implementation & Delivery Oversee implementation to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Support full solution lifecycle management—from ideation through deployment and optimization. Ensure financial viability of solutions (build and run cost alignment). Stakeholder & Vendor Management Partner with business units and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Collaborate with ServiceNow and third-party vendors; support SOW management and billing coordination. Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners. Integration & Technical Leadership Design and manage integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise platforms. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams. Guide best practices in Agile and DevOps methodologies. Ensure optimal use of MID Servers and integration frameworks. Governance, Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies and regulatory requirements. Identify, manage, and mitigate risks, dependencies, and issues related to solution design and implementation. Ensure adherence to licensing models and governance standards. Continuous Improvement & Innovation Drive process improvements and system enhancements. Stay current with emerging ServiceNow capabilities and industry trends. Promote innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the solution domain. Customer & Performance Focus Deliver high-quality solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. Resolve escalations effectively. Maintain documentation and provide progress/status reporting. Performance Measures Quality and scalability of solution designs Adherence to ServiceNow best practices Cost efficiency and budget management Customer satisfaction Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Experience 8+ years of hands-on ServiceNow experience Minimum 5 years in solution design and implementation roles Experience in digital transformation initiatives At least one ServiceNow certification Technical Skills Strong expertise in SPM/PPM, ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, AMDB, custom applications, and integrations Experience with Performance Analytics and reporting Knowledge of ServiceNow licensing models Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS Strong integration capabilities with enterprise systems Experience working with MID Servers Methodologies & Soft Skills Familiarity with Agile and DevOps frameworks Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration abilities Leadership and mentoring capabilities
