The Role
Seeking a ServiceNow Hardware and Software Asset Management (HAM/SAM) Engineer to build and mature our enterprise asset lifecycle capabilities on the ServiceNow platform. This role will be responsible for configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of HAM and SAM modules, ensuring accurate asset data, license compliance, and integration with discovery and procurement systems.
The ideal candidate has hands-on ServiceNow HAM/SAM experience, strong CMDB fundamentals, and the ability to partner with IT, Procurement, Finance, and Security stakeholders to operationalize asset governance at scale.

The Main Responsibilities
ServiceNow Platform Engineering
- Configure, enhance, and support ServiceNow HAM and SAM modules, including lifecycle workflows from request through retirement
- Maintain asset data integrity across CMDB, HAM, and SAM, ensuring alignment with CSDM standards
- Design and implement asset-related workflows, approvals, notifications, and automations
- Support asset lifecycle use cases including procurement, deployment, transfers, returns, and disposal
Asset Discovery & Integrations
- Manage and support integrations with discovery and inventory tools (e.g., Flexera, SCCM, Intune, Jamf, cloud connectors)
- Monitor and remediate data quality issues related to asset feeds and normalization
- Partner with technical teams to resolve discrepancies between discovered data and ServiceNow records
Software Asset Management & Compliance
- Support license models, entitlement management, and reconciliation processes
- Assist with compliance reporting and audit readiness for software publishers
- Develop and maintain SAM dashboards and reports to track compliance, risk, and cost optimization
Reporting, Analytics & Governance
- Build and maintain operational and executive dashboards for HAM/SAM KPIs
- Support governance processes related to asset standards, lifecycle controls, and data stewardship
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with IT operations, procurement, finance, and security teams
- Support business initiatives requiring accurate asset data and lifecycle visibility
Provide guidance and support to process owners and operational teams

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired in Information Technology, Information Systems, or Computer Science. 3+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in:

- HAM and SAM modules, experience supporting asset lifecycle processes
- Strong understanding of CMDB and CSDM concepts
- Familiarity with asset discovery and inventory tools and integration
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$132,000 - $198,000
