Manager, Service Now Architecture and Development
with a growing client in the Virginia area. Where technical vision meets strategic leadership—advance the ServiceNow roadmap for a modern higher‑education enterprise.
Title: Manager, Service Now Architecture and Development
Location: fully remote
Duration: Direct hire role
Manager, ServiceNow Architect and Development (Higher Education)
Role Overview
- A higher education Information Technology Services (ITS) organization seeks a ServiceNow Architect and Development Manager to lead the architecture, design, development, and optimization of the institution’s ServiceNow platform. This is a hands‑on leadership position focused on scalable solutions, operational excellence, and technical team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect & Design
- Lead overall ServiceNow architecture, data models, workflows, integrations, and scalable platform solutions.
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and innovation within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
- Team Leadership
- Mentor and guide development staff; promote collaboration, best practices, and continuous learning.
- Security & Compliance
- Assess platform security and implement improvements aligned with institutional governance and policies.
- Configuration & Optimization
- Customize ServiceNow modules (Incident, Change, CMDB, Service Catalog, etc.) and ensure platform reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Documentation & Training
- Develop and maintain technical documentation; support end‑user and stakeholder training.
- Operational Support
- Provide technical support and participate in incident response and troubleshooting for ServiceNow operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Extensive experience with ServiceNow architecture, development, and platform management
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and large-scale technical initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- ServiceNow certifications (Architect, Developer, Admin, Implementation Specialist, etc.)
- Experience in higher education, enterprise environments, or ITSM‑focused organizations
- Strong understanding of platform security, governance frameworks, integrations, and automation
