ServiceNow Developer

Robert Half is seeking a ServiceNow Developer to support the implementation and enhancement of enterprise IT Service Management (ITSM) processes through the ServiceNow platform. This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, developing, troubleshooting, and implementing both baseline and custom applications to improve platform functionality and automate business workflows.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building and deploying ServiceNow solutions including forms, workflows, flow designer processes, and custom scripting to support scalable business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement ServiceNow forms, workflows, flows, and scripts
• Develop and test custom applications within the ServiceNow platform
• Perform code reviews on development work completed by other team members
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues
• Configure and enhance ITSM-related modules
• Support automation of business processes through ServiceNow capabilities
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• 3–5+ years of experience in ServiceNow application development
• Experience working with:
• Service Portal
• ITSM
• ITAM
• ITOM
• CMDB
• Experience with Workflow Editor and Flow Designer
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture and capabilities
• Knowledge of web-based protocols and standards such as:
• REST
• SOAP
• JSON
• XML
• WSDL
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Customer-focused mindset and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Desired Qualifications:

• ServiceNow training and/or certifications
• Experience with ITIL or IT Service Management frameworks
• Advanced understanding of object-oriented JavaScript
• Experience with HTML and CSS
• Familiarity with Discovery and CMDB best practices
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
• Experience providing technical consultation on design and implementation decisions
• Understanding of project management lifecycle principles
