Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Codes and performs unit and integration testing of ServiceNow software to ensure proper execution and adherence to business and technical requirements
  • Codes, tests and debugs new ServiceNow functions or makes enhancements to existing functions
  • Writes programs according to specifications from higher level staff or business analysts
  • Develops technical documentation
  • Resolves in a timely manner problems that arise with existing production ServiceNow instance to ensure the efficient and proper functioning of ServiceNow components
  • Analyzes problems by coordinating with the client to diagnose and fix operational difficulty, as well as consulting, advising and training on specialized features and functions
  • Generates a variety of complex and periodic reports and/or data extracts through database management, data administration and data extraction techniques
  • Provides general system users and management with system analysis and feedback
  • Influence system design by identifying requirements and recommending design and for software enhancements
  • Follows established configuration/change control processes

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of ServiceNow development/administration experience
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator – required
  • Additional ServiceNow Certifications – highly desired
  • Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM (or any other module/suite)
  • Certified Application Developer
  • Experience in developing ServiceNow functionality that integrates multiple ServiceNow modules (cross-platform)
  • Deep technical and process knowledge of key ServiceNow modules and concepts must include
  • CMDB and Configuration Management
  • Incident
  • Change
  • Problem
  • Service Catalog
  • Service Requests
  • Service Portal
  • Notifications
  • Surveys
  • Expertise in ServiceNow Development and Administration techniques:
  • Server/Client side scripting
  • Request Fulfillment workflow development
  • UI Policy development

  • ACLs
  • Experience implementing integrations of ServiceNow to external systems with knowledge of common integration techniques
  • REST APIs
  • File import – Import sets/transform maps
  • Orchestration
  • LDAP integration
  • Experience working in an agile environment utilizing Story/Defect methodology
  • Experience implementing ServiceNow upgrades and patches, knowledge of ServiceNow upgrade and patching process
  • Experience managing ServiceNow code changes in update sets and promoting and applying update sets across instances
  • Some experience working on projects outside of core ServiceNow ITIL/IT Service Management processes (CSM, ITBM or GRC) would be a plus
  • ITIL V3 certification preferred
