ServiceNow Service Mapping Specialist

Location: Remote, Bethesda, MD

Duration: 8+ months

Job Summary:

Seeking for an experienced specialist with a strong technical background in ServiceNow CMDB and Service Mapping. This role is essential to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our ServiceNow CMDB and advancing our service mapping initiatives.

Core Work Activities:

• Design and maintain CMDB structures following the Common Service Data Model (CSDM 4.0/5.0).
• Configure and troubleshoot ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping for accurate CI relationships.
• Develop custom patterns and probes using scripting capabilities like JavaScript and Glide API.
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to align service maps with organizational objectives.
• Integrate CMDB with ITIL processes to support alignment and compliance.
• Monitor data quality through KPIs and drive remediation efforts.
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance service mapping processes.

Education & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of experience with ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery.
• 3 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow Service Mapping.
• Strong scripting skills in JavaScript, Glide API, and MID Server scripting.
• Knowledge of CSDM, CI lifecycle management, and data governance.
• Experience with hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery and/or CMDB.
• ServiceNow Certified Administrator (CSA).
• Experience in regulated industries like finance or healthcare.
• Experience with automation tools and data normalization.
