Position Overview

SPS Consulting is seeking a seasoned Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Lead to support the Loudoun County Department of Information Technology (DIT). This role offers the opportunity to work alongside an innovative and dynamic team, driving new initiatives that modernize and mature the County’s IT Asset Management (ITAM) capabilities.

The selected candidate will play a critical role in transforming hardware asset management from manual, decentralized processes into a fully automated, ITIL-aligned ServiceNow environment, supporting an enterprise of approximately 5,000 users.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of a cradle-to-grave hardware asset lifecycle strategy
• Design, implement, and enforce ITIL-aligned asset management policies and governance frameworks across departments
• Configure and optimize ServiceNow ITAM/HAM Pro, including asset forms, workflows, and lifecycle state models
• Partner with technical teams to enhance CMDB accuracy, integrating discovery tools such as SCCM and ServiceGraph connectors
• Establish and manage cycle count programs and physical inventory audits to ensure high data integrity
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) including asset accuracy, utilization, and loss trends
• Lead organizational change management (OCM) efforts, including training, communication, and user adoption strategies
• Collaborate with stakeholders across IT and business units to align asset management practices with operational goals
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and visibility

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM) / Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
• Proven track record implementing ITAM practices in mid-to-large enterprise environments (5,000+ users)
• Advanced experience with ServiceNow ITAM or HAM Pro
• Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and lifecycle management principles
• Experience with CMDB, discovery tools, and asset data governance
• Demonstrated ability to lead process transformation and organizational change initiatives
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Leesburg, VA

Preferred Qualifications

• IAITAM (CHAMP) or ServiceNow (CSM/ITAM) certifications
• ITIL v4 Foundation or higher
• Experience with ITOM, Discovery, and Service Mapping
• PMP or Agile certifications
• Prior experience supporting government or public sector clients

Pay: From $130,000.00 per year
