ITOM SME (ServiceNow IT Operations Management)

Remote Position

Duration: 12+ months

Position Overview

Client is seeking an experienced ITOM SME with strong ServiceNow development skills and hands-on expertise in CMDB. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of CMDB architecture and health, along with a strong willingness to learn and enhance skills in ITOM Discovery and Service Mapping.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance ServiceNow ITOM solutions, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
• Work extensively with ServiceNow CMDB, maintaining data integrity, class structures, CI relationships, and CMDB Health dashboards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support CMDB governance, data modeling, and CI lifecycle management.
• Support or lead initiatives in Discovery, Service Mapping, and other ITOM modules.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to ITOM, CMDB, integrations, and automations.
• Contribute to platform improvements, best practices, and technical documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong JavaScript development skills with proven experience in ServiceNow development (catalog items, workflows, business rules, scripts, and integrations).
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, including:
• Deep understanding of CMDB class structure
• CI relationships and data models
• CMDB Health and data quality practices
• Willingness to learn ITOM Discovery and Service Mapping.
• Prior experience with ITOM Discovery is a strong plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow CSA / CIS-Discovery / CIS-CMDB certifications (preferred but not required).
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and ITSM foundations.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments.
