Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior ServiceNow Engineer to provide expert engineering, configuration, and integration support for our enterprise ServiceNow platform. In this role, you will ensure the platform's stability and scalability while aligning it with our organizational standards. Collaborating closely with product owners and process leads, you will implement updates, upgrades, and new features that enhance our mission-critical services.

Your responsibilities will include designing and maintaining intricate workflows, integrating ServiceNow with various enterprise tools. This position embraces modern engineering practices like scripting, automation, and infrastructure-as-code to optimize our federal IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop complex ServiceNow solutions across various modules, ensuring compliance with platform and governance standards.

Create and sustain integrations utilizing APIs, web services, and MID servers to connect ServiceNow with monitoring, identity, and business systems, addressing integration issues promptly.

Manage platform upgrades, patches, and enhancements, including regression testing, validation, and rollback strategies to minimize service disruption.

Customize workflows, forms, dashboards, and data models to fulfill organizational needs while maintaining performance and security.

Work with security and compliance teams to guarantee that configurations and integrations comply with organizational and federal guidelines.

Implement scripting and automation techniques to improve the efficiency of common administrative and maintenance tasks in the ServiceNow environment.

Troubleshoot complex platform challenges across application, integration, and infrastructure layers, performing root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Document solutions, configuration standards, and technical procedures to support knowledge transfer and operational continuity.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

8+ years of experience managing ServiceNow environments with significant hands-on engineering or development experience in large, multi-module instances.

Proven expertise in customizing and configuring core ServiceNow applications and building integrations with third-party systems using APIs and web services.

Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.

Experience in planning and executing ServiceNow upgrades and changes, adhering to formal change-management processes.

Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust investigation, with U.S. citizenship required.

Willingness to travel 10-25% to support stakeholder engagement and platform initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

Multiple ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer) reflecting a deep understanding across administration and development.

Experience leading platform-wide initiatives like CMDB design, multi-instance consolidation, or modernization of existing ServiceNow implementations.

Familiarity with cloud engineering practices, including infrastructure as code and continuous integration, as they apply to ServiceNow.

Previous experience within a federal or similarly regulated environment, demonstrating an understanding of security, audit, and compliance needs.

Compensation for this role varies depending on factors such as location, skills, education, certifications, and experience. The displayed compensation is a general guideline and is unique to each individual role. This position is part of ASM's overall compensation and benefits package.
