Job Title Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst – ServiceNow
Long term contract- onsite 4 days a week
Hour rate-35/hour to 38/hour
We are looking for a detail-oriented SAM Analyst to support software asset management operations. This entry-level to early-career role focuses on reconciling software license entitlements with supplier records and maintaining accurate, high-quality data in ServiceNow to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Perform recurring reconciliations between software license entitlements, supplier records, contracts, and ServiceNow data.Investigate and resolve data discrepancies or escalate as needed.Maintain accurate ServiceNow records by updating required fields for applications, entitlements, and contracts.Import and normalize data from Excel and other sources into ServiceNow (data sources, field mapping, transformations, and validation).Research software vendors, access supplier portals for entitlements and invoices, and maintain vendor contact information.Support audit readiness through proper documentation, evidence retention, and adherence to licensing and internal control procedures.Identify and recommend improvements to reconciliation and data management processes.Required Skills & Qualifications
0–5 years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), software licensing, vendor management, or CMDB operations.Strong experience with data reconciliation (comparing entitlements, invoices, contracts, and system records).Hands-on experience with ServiceNow (SAM, ITAM, or CMDB modules) or the ability to learn it quickly.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, filters, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, large datasets).Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.Core Competencies (Skills Taxonomy)
License Reconciliation & Analysis — Compare entitlements vs. actual records; document variances and resolutions.ServiceNow Data Management — Maintain record hygiene, update fields, and ensure data completeness and accuracy.Data Import & Transformation — Create data sources, map fields, apply transformations, and validate imports in ServiceNow.Vendor Coordination — Access supplier portals, obtain entitlement documentation, and manage vendor relationships.Compliance & Governance — Follow licensing terms, retain evidence, and support audit readiness activities.Process & Organization — Manage recurring cycles across multiple vendors with strong attention to detail and minimal supervision.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro, ITAM, or CMDB (imports, normalization, governance).Familiarity with common software licensing models (subscription, perpetual, user-based, device-based, concurrent).Prior exposure to vendor portals and managing proofs of entitlement.Understanding of software audit processes and internal controls.
