Kentro is hiring for an expert-level CMDB Architect with a focus on ITOM, Discovery, and Integrations for Kentro's VA ESOM – End Point Support and Operations Monitoring contract across the United States. In this role, you will define and own the CMDB architecture strategy, drive data quality and governance programs, and lead the integration of the CMDB with monitoring, observability, and asset management sources. This role serves as the technical authority for configuration management across a complex federal environment and requires deep expertise in ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, and ITOM platforms.

Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours.

Responsibilities:

Define and own CMDB architecture including data model design, federation strategy, naming standards, and ingestion patterns aligned to enterprise architecture. Build and execute CMDB roadmaps, maturity models, and phased implementation plans across the VA environment. Establish and enforce CMDB data governance, CI lifecycle policies, attestation processes, audit controls, and change-driven CI update workflows. Drive CMDB health and data quality programs using health dashboards, metrics, and exception remediation workflows. Lead integration of CMDB with monitoring, observability, and asset sources including SCCM, BigFix, Armis, Splunk, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud CMDBs. Apply hands-on expertise in data modeling, reconciliation, normalization, Transform Maps, IntegrationHub, ETL tools, and REST/SOAP APIs. Connect CMDB design to ITSM and ITOM processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Asset, Service Mapping, Event Management, and AIOps. Partner with Change Management, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to ensure CI accountability and accurate service modeling. Develop standards, playbooks, and training materials to align cross-functional teams around CMDB strategy and governance. Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in ITSM, configuration management, platform architecture, or enterprise architecture. 5+ years focused specifically on CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping. Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or business administration. Strong understanding of CMDB concepts including CI classes, relationships, and dependency modeling for complex infrastructures (servers, networks, cloud, containers, databases, middleware, load balancers). Expertise with ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, and ITOM platforms. Demonstrated ability to define CMDB architecture, governance frameworks, and data quality programs at scale. ITIL Foundation certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

ServiceNow certifications including CIS-CMDB, CIS-Discovery, CIS-Service Mapping, CSA, or architect-level credentials. Active federal security clearance or Public Trust. Experience in a federal IT environment. Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to CMDB data accuracy and configuration integrity. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with experience presenting to leadership, auditors, and cross-functional IT teams.
