The ServiceNow Solutions Architect / Designer is responsible for designing scalable, secure, and efficient solutions on the ServiceNow platform. This role provides technical leadership across the full lifecycle of ServiceNow implementations, ensuring alignment with business objectives, enterprise architecture standards, and IT service management best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and architecture of ServiceNow solutions across modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, HRSD, and CSMTranslate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and platform designsDefine architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices for ServiceNow implementationsCollaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to ensure solution alignmentOversee end-to-end solution delivery, including integrations, data models, and workflow designDesign and review custom applications, configurations, and platform extensionsProvide guidance on platform governance, security, and compliance requirementsLead design workshops, solution reviews, and architecture governance sessionsEnsure optimal platform performance, scalability, and maintainabilitySupport release planning, upgrades, and platform roadmap developmentMentor developers and administrators, ensuring adherence to architectural standardsRequired Skills & Experience
7+ years of experience in IT, with 5+ years on the ServiceNow platformProven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutionsStrong expertise in ServiceNow architecture, data model design, and platform capabilitiesHands-on experience with integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, third-party systems)Strong knowledge of ITSM processes and ServiceNow best practicesExperience with scripting (JavaScript, Glide) and platform customizationAbility to lead solution design and architecture discussions with senior stakeholdersPreferred Qualifications
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – ITSM, ITOM, or other modulesServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) – highly desirableITIL Foundation or higher
