THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:
The ServiceNow Citizen Development Lead is key to empowering, governing, and enhancing citizen development across our enterprise ServiceNow platform. In this role, you'll define the operating model, create essential guidelines, and establish an enablement framework that allows business teams to build applications and automations securely and efficiently with ServiceNow’s low-code/no-code capabilities.
YOUR GOALS WILL INCLUDE:
Citizen Development GovernanceEstablish and own a comprehensive citizen development governance model, specifying what can and cannot be built, approved tools, and mandatory design/testing standards.Create tiered levels for citizen developers (e.g., beginner, advanced) to grant varying privileges.Collaborate with Platform Architecture and Security to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.Enablement & OnboardingDesign and implement a robust citizen developer onboarding program, including training, hands-on labs, and reusable components.Act as a primary coach and advisor to new citizen developers.Maintain a curated library of application templates, data models, and integration patterns.Design & Quality OversightEstablish lightweight design reviews for citizen-built solutions.Define quality gates, such as automated testing requirements and peer reviews.Review and approve applications developed by citizens before production release, in partnership with Release Management.Platform Protection & Risk ManagementEnsure citizen development doesn't lead to uncontrolled customizations or performance risks.Monitor and report on citizen development activities, including adoption and technical debt.Serve as an escalation point for any citizen development issues.Operating Model & Continuous ImprovementDefine the full lifecycle for citizen-built applications, including intake, build, and support.Collaborate with Product Owners to determine if solutions should remain citizen-built or transition to full engineering ownership.Continuously improve standards based on platform maturity and usage.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, or equivalent experience.7-10 years of IT experience with a minimum of 3 years hands-on development in the ServiceNow platform.Proficient with ServiceNow capabilities such as App Engine, Flow Designer, and UI Builder.Strong grasp of governance, security, and upgrade processes on the platform.Experience in designing enablement programs or Centers of Excellence.Able to coach non-technical users while enforcing technical standards.Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.The pay range for this position is $102,900.00 - $160,000.00 per year, with additional compensation opportunities through the Company's bonus plan. Your pay will be based on various factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and business needs. Full-time positions offer benefits including paid time off and health, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage. Part-time positions are also eligible for selected benefits.
