Lead ServiceNow Developer

Overview

GovCIO is seeking a talented Lead ServiceNow Developer to design, develop, and maintain essential applications that support the U.S. Coast Guard's mission. This fully remote role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise while making a difference.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will facilitate the swift creation of functional applications and automated workflows aligned with the Software Lifecycle Management Plan (SLMP). Your core responsibilities will include:

Creating and configuring applications on the ServiceNow platform with minimal manual coding using App Engine, Flow Designer, and UI Builder.

Collaborating with stakeholders to analyze requirements and convert operational demands into scalable applications and ServiceNow modules.

Executing the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with various methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps, Lean, and Waterfall.

Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to platform integration, MID Server configuration, deployment, and functional defects.

Applying ServiceNow best practices to minimize technical debt and ensure compliance with platform governance.

Developing applications that meet cybersecurity compliance, adhering to USCG system security requirements and federal data protection standards.

Creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, including Software Product Documentation and updates to the Software Lifecycle Management Plan.

Supporting application lifecycle activities, including transitioning legacy workflows into ServiceNow and modernizing existing modules.

Providing technical insights on ServiceNow capabilities, governance models, and digital transformation strategies.

Qualifications

High School diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience developing on the ServiceNow platform.

Capability to execute the SDLC using modern frameworks like Agile and DevOps in a mission-critical environment.

Experience in securing ServiceNow applications in line with USCG, DoD, DHS, or federal cybersecurity policies.

Proficiency in systems integration, connecting ServiceNow with external data sources and APIs.

Exceptional communication skills for effective discussions and requirements translation with stakeholders.

Adept at managing tasks in a fast-paced setting with a focus on platform scalability and operational readiness.

Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Skills & Experience

Experience with U.S. Coast Guard or Department of Homeland Security (DHS) programs.

Familiarity with ServiceNow Governance and the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).

ServiceNow Certifications (e.g., Certified Application Developer or Certified Implementation Specialist).

Knowledge of enterprise IT governance and hybrid cloud integration.

A strong analytical mindset, combined with problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Salary Range

USD $130,000.00 - USD $161,000.00 /Yr.
